MY
APPROACH
Grounded, gentle, and guided by the dog in front of me.

SAFETY FIRST
A dog who does not feel safe cannot learn, settle, or connect. Safety is always the starting point.

CONNECTION
BEFORE CORRECTION
Trust is the foundation of all meaningful behaviour change, and it takes time to build. Connection comes before any expectations.

SUPPORT NOT SUPRESSION
Behaviour is communication, not defiance. We see, listen, and guide rather than reprimand.

HOW THIS WORKS IN PRACTICE
My approach is grounded, gentle, and always guided by the dog in front of me.
I follow three core principles:
Safety first. A dog who feels safe can learn, settle, and connect.
Connection before correction. Trust is the foundation of real behaviour change.
Support, not suppression. Behaviour is communication, not defiance — we respond with guidance, not reprimands.
That means we go slowly, respect thresholds, read body language, and reduce pressure before adding expectations.
This isn’t about control, dominance, or quick fixes. It’s about emotional safety, nervous system regulation, and building a lifelong bond.
When a dog feels safe with you, they want to work with you — and understanding what they’re telling you makes everything easier.
